Re: Barteau's 22nd Tennessee Cavalry

Sir,

You may want to purchase a book entitled "Hancock's diary, or, A history of the Second Tennessee Confederate Cavalry: with sketches of First and Seventh battalions, also, portraits and biographical sketches." Nashville, Tenn.: Brandon Print. Co., 1887, Hancock, R. R. 663 pgs. This book was recently republished by Morningside Press. The 22nd Tennessee Cavalry was also called (incorrectly) as the 2nd Tennessee Cavalry. Some of these circumstances were discussed in "Tennesseans in the Civil War". The book is about Barteau's Regiment and not Henry Ashby's 2nd Tennessee Cavalry. My ancestor was in and I research Ashby's 2nd Tennessee Cavalry. Hope this helps.

Respectfully,
