I was told by my grandfather that my 3rd great grandfather was in the Tennessee Calvary, So I assumed that he was in the CSA, being from Tennessee, but I have found his service record and he was in the Union Calvary. He lived in Decatur county but enlisted in Bethel, Tenn. No wonder I could not find anything on him.
