Listing Confederate commands recruited in Bedford County, Goodspeed's History of Bedford County mentions that "Capt. R. B. Blackwell also took out a company in that year." (1826)

Evidently he operated as leader of a guerilla band in the area during 1864. In 1861 Blackwell appears to have been a resident of Shelbyville, Tenn.

Does anyone know what company Blackwell recruited, or anything else about his activities during the war?
