STALCUPS IN CSA UNITS....

Hi Roy -

turns out I have some Svensk in me; my ggg-grandma's maiden name was STALCUP (alternate spellings of STALCOP, STALLCUP, etc.). She was born in Tennessee, but had relatives throughout the South, both Antebellum and during the CW. They first came over from Sweden during the 1600s to the Wilmington, Delaware colony.

I have noticed several listings for STALCUP (STALCOP, STALLCUP, etc.) as CSA soldiers - notably in Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, Virgina. Supposedly all these STALCUP/STALCOP/STALLCUP folks are all related from the original emigrants to Wilmington, Delaware.

Can give you some more info re STALCUP/STALCOP/STALLCUP names in CSA units if you are interested; let me know?

y.v.o.s.,

Ken
