The information is from a local Dyer County historian/teacher.

Interestingly, there is information on p. 106 of "A History of the Henry County Commands, which lists "_._ Flowers" of the 4th TN. Inf. as the color bearer at Franklin.

Through correspondence with Greg Biggs some years ago, it was believed that my gg grand uncle, William Asa Flowers is the one mentioned in the book.

Was there more than one color bearer per unit? Is it possible that both Flowers and Puckett carried a flag at Franklin?
