MENTOR OR MINTOR IN TENNESSEE CSA UNIT..??

Hello -

am trying to locate a CSA soldier (possibly an officer of some rank) with the last name of MINTOR (MENTOR?) from the general area of the Kentucky Purchase or along the Tennessee or Cumberland Rivers (proximity to Stewart Co. Tenn.).

Supposedly my ggg-uncle Riley Marion Byrd named his son Joseph Mentor (pronounced "minter") Byrd after a man he served under in the CSA.

Know this is a long shot for finding the CSA unit Uncle Riley served in, but........[sigh]

thanks for any/all help!!!!

y.v.o.s.,

Ken Byrd
