Nashville, TN CWRT - January 2024 program

Hello everyone,

The next meeting of the Nashville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 in the visitor’s center of Ft. Negley Park, a unit of Metro Parks, Nashville, TN. This is located off I-65 just south of downtown between 4th Avenue South and 8th Avenue South on Edgehill Avenue/Chestnut Avenue. Take Exit 81, Wedgewood Avenue, off I-65 and follow the signs to the Science Museum.

The meeting begins at 7:00 PM and is always open to the public.

The Nashville Civil War Roundtable was founded in April 2009 and features well known authors and historians as speakers on a variety of related topics. We just celebrated our 14th Anniversary!

Our Speaker and Topic - "The Civil War Trip Of A Lifetime"

Over more than a year, John Banks crisscrossed the country exploring battlefields, historic houses, forts and more. Accounts of his travels to Gettysburg, Champion Hill, Antietam and elsewhere appear in his recently released book, A Civil War Road Trip Of A Lifetime. Join him for a road trip like no other. Banks is also author of Connecticut Yankees at Antietam and Hidden History of Connecticut Union Soldiers. His work has been featured in such notable publications as The New York Times, Civil War Times, Civil War Monitor, Civil War News, America's Civil War and Military Images. Banks attended Mount Lebanon (Pa.) High School and graduated from West Virginia University (B.A. in journalism). A longtime journalist (The Dallas Morning News and ESPN), he is secretary-treasurer of The Center for Civil War Photography and a board member of the Save Historic Antietam Foundation and Battle of Nashville Trust.

John has spoken to the Nashville CWRT before and those who were there know he is a fine speaker so don’t miss this program.
