Hi RR,

I had always heard that all the Southern States did have Unionist Regiments but that of South Carolina. On this posting you mention that there were 5 regiments from South Carolina. Was this made up of former slaves?..And was what I had read, meant there were no regiments of White Men from South Carolina or was there indeed some Unionist sentiments in South Carolina. My family on the TN and NC border also had those on both sides....James Horton.
