I just visited mt great grandfather, Jesse Story's, grave today and was surprised to see that he served in the Union. He was from Aho, NC and served in Tenn. 13th Calvary CoE. I did some research and was surprised also to find that his 2 brothers served in the Confederacy, one of whom died in the war, along with 3 of his first cousins.Two of his first cousins joined the Confederacy, but deserted and joined the Union. The story about brothers fighting brothers is evidentally true! I always had the notion they were all Confederate, being they were from Western NC, I was so wrong! Can anyone give me a little history on the Tenn.13th Calvary, please? I love the Civil War era and like to go to reenactments. Are there any in Tennessee I might like? Thank You
