Daniel Foster of McMinnville Co.

D. L. Foster died June 2, 1862.

The 19th Infantry was the second infantry unit raised in East Tennesse. They fought at Fishing Creek on January 18, 1862 where Gen. Zollicoffer fell.

They also fought at Shiloh April 6 & 7 where they " . . . lost heavily in killed and wounded."

On May 10 they were near Corinth, Mississippi. Then sent to Vicksburg, Miss. arriving June 28, 1862.
