Re: 2nd Tennessee Volunteer Infantry uniforms

Carl- your ancestor served in Companies "K" and "L" of the 2nd Tennessee Volunteer Infantry(U.S.)- a federal unit. As such their uniform would have been Federal standard for Infantry- either dress frock coats or fatique blouses(aka sack coats) sky blue trousers and either a black brimed hat of blue forage cap. Standard black federal accoutraments, probably either Enfield of Lorenze muskets. I do not believe anyone is doing the 2nd Tennessee at this time. If you want to get involved in doing a "loyal southerner" federal impression drop me an e-mail and I see what I can do to help- there aren't many of us around.
