I am searching for the grave of a prisoner who was shot and captured at Murfreesboro Tenn. His name was Reuben Whitfield Kirby Private 18 years of age SC 10th Infantry Company H Williamsburg District SC. In his Compiled Service Record documents it states he was wounded and left at Stones River on 12/31/1862. On a Register of Prisoners of War. Dept of the Cumberland, Reg. No. 1 ; Page 138 Hd Qrs. Prov. Mar. General, Nashville, Tenn. states he was captured. Signed by I. N. Hammer (copyist). On Page 140 of simlar document it states that he died January 23 1863.

From this it looks like Reuben never got a chance to leave Murfreesboro before he died. He lived almost one month.
Would anyone have idea of where I should look. Is there any listing or information on prisoner burials after the battle?
Thank you Mike Kirby
