Looking for info about John Quincey Adams Shaver who served in the 19th Tennessee. He was from Rhea county and several of his family members also served. I don't know much about all the battles he was involved in, however I do know he was captured at Chickamauga and sent to Camp Douglas from which he was paroled at the end of the war. He told the story to his children that he ate rats in order to survive being a POW.
