Location of Patterson's Mill

In the Stone's River campaign, Rosecrans'army broke camp on the morning of 26 December 1862 and began its advance on Bragg's army at Murfreesboro. Several routes were taken by Rosecrans' forces. While conducting research for a book on the Stone's River campaign, I came across the mention of a route taken by Sill's brigade,Sheridan's division that I have not been able to precisely identify.

Captain Henry Hescock, Sheridan's chief of artillery, in his official report (O.R. Vol.20, p.352)in detailing the routes used by the division's batteries wrote:

"...Hescock's battery, with General Sill's brigade, on the road to the left of the pike, via Patterson's Mill.."

The pike referred to by Captain Hescock would have been Nolensville Pike. The "to the left" implies just east of the Nolensville Pike, and would have had the route running roughly north to south. I have not been able to find Patterson's Mill on any Civil War period maps or mention of it otherwise. Any help in pin pointing it and the name of the road on which it was located would be of great help.

Best Regards & GOD's Blessings,
