I got to thinking Mill creek might be the site of Pattersons Mill"...Hescock's battery, with General Sill's brigade, on the road to the left of the pike, via Patterson's Mill.."The road to the left in this map leeds up Mill creek the pike headed south.The Brigade had camped at Mill Creek for several weeks prior,Dec.9 to 26, to leaving Dec.26,1862.They refer to it as Camp Sheridan.
