I, too, had done extensive research, and had to do some major cross referencing to find out where the State Female college was located. It was at the corner of College and McLemore where the new Stax recording studio/Museum is. I initially thought that it was on College St. south of McLemore, as I stumbled across a perfect condition 3-ringer with my detector. To my dismay, I input the address, I believe it was 608 McLemore (found this through old articles at the Main Library) and input it into mapquest to see, and it showed up on the north side of McLemore.

If you are a detectorist, I wouldn't recommend the area without some sidearm protection.
