Other than Ft Pickering- which stretched along the bluffs from what is now the southern edge of DeSoto Park to Martyrs Park, -the only fotifications were several small redoubts and outworks covering the raillines and major roads. A map of their locations can be found in the "Official Atlas to accompany the Official Records of the War of the Rebellion". Most major libraries will have a copy of the Atlas.
