This may be an odd request, but I thought it worth trying to find an answer...

The son of a friend of mine has recently developed an interest in the WBS, and specifically in the Confederate veterans he has found in his family tree.

His birthday is this Friday, and he has asked for a Confederate flag as a gift. I have a flag I plan to give him, but I thought it would be nice to include a note with short a quote or poem that honors the Confederate veteran.

I'm hoping someone here might know something suitable I could use.
