Re: Seeking info on General Jackson Rogers

Rachel...in response tho your reply. I am almost positive that our Jackson ROGERS are not one in the same. As mine has ended up being an outlaw of sorts, or criminal as one may say. It is hard to believe that he would survive the Civil War, twice to become a criminal but here goes...

He was however in GA in 1870, as a guest of the Spring Place, Murray County jail! I have not been able to find out what for as of yet. We believe because military had listed him as being AWOL, even though he was wounded and at the medical fort at the time of roll call. He joined up once again with another company, this time with the TN Mounted Cavalry. Now back over in Jackson County, AL, he was in jail and he escaped and was shot in the back by the Sheriff's deputies in 1891, and he died from those injuries soon after at Fern Cliff, Jackson County, AL.

So as you see, I am quite sure ours are 2 different Jackson ROGERS. But if you feel they may be related, let me know and I would be happy to send you everything I have on him. Good luck researching yours though...
