I had a g,g,g, grandfather and a g,g grandfather who were in the 7th Regiment, TN Cavalry, CO. H. Both were taken prisoner at Trenton in June of 1862 by Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest. They were both paroled to Camp Chase Ohio. Their names were William W. Williamson and son, George W. Williamson. William was killed on his way to his next command on March 21, 1864. George W. Williamson was captured again on March 24, 1864 by Gen Forrest at Union City, TN. Almost the entire Regiment was captured, and he was sent to Andersonville prison. He spent nearly thirteen months there and was released to Parole Camp in Vicksburg, MS. I too am trying to find more information on the actual battle at Union City. This Web Site has some information about the battle. Who was your g, g, g grandfather?
This lady is writing a book on the 7th Regiment, TN Cavalry. Hope this helps some.
