Re: 51st Tennessee In The Great Snowball Fight

In his book "History of the Orphan Brigade" Ed Porter Thompson claimed it started between the Orphan Brigade and a Tennessee Brigade on March 22, 1864.
In his diary John S Jackman of the 4th Ky claimed it started with the 4th attacking men of Tyler's Brigade, then the two brigades joined and attacked first Finley's Fla brigade, then Stovall's brigade of AP Stewart's division. After the morning battle Stewart's men regrouped and attacked Bate's division in the afternoon. He mentions captureing the flag of the 41st Ga and bringing it back to their camp with him.
