Check out the book "Chattanooga's Story" by John Wilson, 1980.

There are a number of references to Snodgrass people.

On page 255 we find: "David L. Snodgrass lived in a two-story frame house with a wind-around porch across the street from the Case and Souder residences. Following his service on the Court of Refrees, Snodgrass was elected as a member of the Tennessee Supreme Court. William Snodgrasss resided in a sprawling frame home down the hill at Fifth and Houston. The latter Snodgrass was a partner in the Snodgrass and Fields Sawmill. The sawmill was located on Payne Street (Battery Place) near the end of Lindsay Street. Logs were brought down the Tennessee River and lifted up a chute to the sawmille."

On page 448 "A brick law office was built at the site of the old Judge David Snodgrass place at the southeast corner of Fifth and Lindsay streets. The Wiliam Snodgrass house at the foot of East Fifth Street was divided into apartments.
