6th TX Cav in TN

I am looking for info on where the 6th Tx Cav Regt regrouped after Corinth and Hatchie Bridge in Oct 1862. My GGF and his brother were in Company I which was dismounted and they were used as marksmen and sharpshooters during those battles. My GGF was wounded and captured, but was soon parolled and returned to his unit.
Both were born in Wilson Co. TN and returned to TN after the war still PVT's. Both married in Giles County in 1865 & 71, and were there during two census 70/80. One was Robert A. Nolan, the other Janes Tiry Nolan, Nolen, Noland, Nowland and a few other spellings. The two stayed in TN from OCT 62 To May 63 at Spring Hill but I find nothing on engagements or other activities. In March and Apr 63 he is listed on detached duty with Major White one of the regimental staff officers. Major White was killed about this time. He was on detached duty from April 1864 to the end of the war.
