Free Hunley educational exhibition event

Call to arms:

Please spread around our SCV non-profit current event amonst your fine reenactors. We would like any reenactors to help with our event and they could visit the beach at the same time.

The non-profit, historical group, the SCV is sponsoring an exhibition of the Civil War's first operational Submarine "Hunley" from Sept 16-18 at Peletier, NC, 2 miles North from Cape Carteret on highway 58's "Buck's Corner". Free for everyone and all kinds of fun for the kids. Historical demonstrations for Cavalry, Infantry, and Artillery. Formation marching, historical encampments, cannon and musket firings will be done. Lectures will be given on the history of the Hunley throughout the weekend. History coming alive!
Any reenactors that would like to come will be warmly welcomed and fed!
Also, take the family to visit Emerald Isle's beautiful beach while you are there.

FRIDAY 16 SEPTEMBER

1300 - 1600 – SET UP CAMP, & DISPLAYS
Establish CS Navy & CS Infantry Camps
Establish main cook fire pit and individual campfire pits.
Establish water supply.
Set up HCSS Hunley display and spokesman camp as required.
All vehicles out of camp right after unload.
Take care of horses

1730 – Serve Evening Chow.
1730 - 2200 - CS Music and Comradeship.
2200 – Lights Out, Quiet in Camp.

SATURDAY 17 SEPTEMBER
