Hello,

An article in the Memphis Appeal of June, 1861 lists a unit called the Memphis Legion and a flag being presented to the 8th Ward Company of that unit commanded by Captain Nabers.

Was this a local militia/home guard unit or did they alter desgnation and become a Tennessee ifantry regiment/battalion?

Any help would be appreciated.
