Any experts on the 31st Tennessee Inf. out there? I am looking for any information on that unit's activities at Fort DeRussy, La., especially if there are any pension applications extant that would discuss the smallpox epidemic that devastated the unit while there (Jan-Feb '63). Any tales of their exploits in the capture of USS Indianola would also be welcomed. Need the info for a history of Fort DeRussy, soon to be published by U of Tenn Press.
