I am helping a friend with genealogy. He descends from Matilda Stewart, sister of Francis M.
He has the Parole of Francis M. Stewart framed on his wall. I am thinking that since this passed down through the sister's line, that perhaps Francis M. Stewart died unmarried.
I know he was wounded at Shiloh, so perhaps he had complications from those wounds.
