Battle near Rockford, TN Nov. 14, 1863

My ggg-grandfather, Philip Cash, was captured in action near Rockford, Tennessee on November 14, 1863. Now a POW he was transported to Belle Isle Prison in Richmond, Virginia. Then in mid-February, 1864 he was within the first 400 POW's shipped to Andersonville, where he died May 21, 1864.

I am looking up any and all information, any little detail, that I can find about his capture and imprisonment. I have accounts as written in "The Wild Riders" that is the account on the 1st Kentucky Cavalry (US) that Philip was a private in Co. J.

I've also read the account from Dorothy E. Kelly, Knoxville Civil War Roundtable.

I am looking for individual accounts, especially that of Jacob S. Bruton, whom Philip was friends with. Jacob provided much information to my gg-grandmother after the war.

If you or anyone you know have more information on my ancestor please Email me; Mathw613@aol.com

Thanks,
matt
