Dr. Thomas J. Kennedy - Castalian Springs

I have just come into pocession of a first edition 1868 print of "A Constitutional View Of The Late War Between The States; Its Causes, Character, Conduct And Results". Presented In A Series Of Colloquies At Liberty Hall, by Alexander H. Stephens. Volume I of Two Volumes.

The book is in rough condition, but complete. The title page is signed by its original owner....

Dr. T.J. Kennedy, Castalian Springs Sumner Co. Tennessee, 1868.

Arcoss the edges of the pages is printed in ink, "Dr. T.J. KENNEDY, 1868"

A little internet research shows him to be....

Kennedy, Thomas J. - Surgeon, 2nd Regiment Tennessee Infantry, Company K, dismissed on December 29, 1862, reenlisted in the 6th Regiment Tennessee Cavalry.

In 1860 he is shown as, single, born in KY, age 38, Physician, residing in the household of A.R. WYNNE, Dist. 3, Castalian Springs, Tennessee, June 25, 1860.

Dr. T.J. Kennedy married Laura Lauderdale on July 2, 1870 at Sumner Co., Tennessee.

They are found listed on the 1870 Census record for Sumner County. Larua is listed as age 26, much younger than Thomas. She was born in Tennessee.

Dr. Thomas J. Kennedy died 6 yrs. later in 1876.

I would appreciate any other details offered about this man's life, his family, his service to the Confederate States, and his place of burial. Any photos of him or his burial marker would be an outstanding find!
