Mr. Wells,

Neither of the Thomas Kerr's that are listed as serving in Tennessee regiments were from companies that were from Hardin County. One Company (Company C, 45th Tennessee Infantry) was from Rutherford County, and the other was from the other was in Smith's 2nd Tennessee Cavalry and the companies from that short lived regiment were from Marion, Smith and Wilson Counties.

You may want to check the location of your man in the 1860 Census if you have not already.
