Seeking information on James Marshall Hunter, of Williamson County, who according to a family dairy joined the Army in Oct 1862 along with his 2 brother-in- laws Andrew W Norris and John Norris.This was the same time Gen. Forrest organized the 4th and 8th Tenn Cavalry in Murfreesboro.Records indicate Andrew and John as being in the 4th Tenn Cavalry. James M. Hunter was a Presbyterian preacher and was killed Feb 3 1863 when Forrest and Wheeler tried to retake Ft. Donelson(the 4th Tenn took heavy losses on that date).We have not been able to find a military record of James . Any help would be appreciated.
