I just came across an old obituary that mentioned the deceased working for the confederacy in constructing a fort named Fort Carmack in Montgomery County, Tennessee at the mouth of Blooming Grove Creek on the Cumberland River. This fort is a new one to me. Does anyone have any knowledge of this fortification?
