Island No. Ten has been washed away by the Mississippi River. It was located in the Mississippi River between the very tip of Kentucky that is attached to Tennessee and the rest of the State of Kentucky. Many of the POW records of prisoners taken at Fort Donelson were incorrectly at some point while at Camp Douglas labeled as captured at Island No. Ten. This is just a simple mistake of the prison not thoroughly checking the previous record of where the prisoners were captured.
