The Tennessee in the Civil War Message Board

Middle TN CWRT April 2006 Meeting

The next meeting of the Middle Tennessee Civil War Round Table is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18, 2006 (7:00 P.M.) at Bradley Academy. Anyone interested in open discussion of the Civil War topics with a local flavor are welcome to attend.

This month’s meeting features a group discussion of the pivotal events of during the fall of 1863 that shaped the outcome of the war. The group will examine the Confederate opportunities to change the course of the war in the west and try to determine how those chances for victory eventually produced disastrous results.

By the time winter had set in, the stage was set for the Union’s devastating campaign into Georgia. Could the Confederates have stopped or delayed that decisive blow to their hopes for independence? That is one questions we will try to answer during the evening.

The Middle Tennessee Civil War Round Table meets every third Tuesday of the month at Bradley Academy, located on Academy Street in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Membership applications are available at each meeting. Membership costs $10 per year for individuals and $15 for families. All meetings are open to the public regardless of membership status. Each meeting will include time for interested parties to share stories and memorabilia from the Civil War era with the membership.
