If this is the Augustus Taylor, born 1843 to James P. Taylor and Sara Coleman in Cocke County Tennessee opr Jefferson County, then he is my relative. I sent for and got muster records for Pvt Augustus Taylor and found that he was not KIA but died as a result of disease. He did mis muster quite a lot. I was looking for his muster records just the other day and have misplaced them but you should be able to request the same records I got. Augustus joined the service in Sevierville, Tennessee. Augustus is the greatgrandchild of Col Parmenas Taylor, over mountain men who fought at Kings Mountain against the British. I am a member of the SAR through Parmenas Taylor of Jefferson County tennessee. James P. Taylor was the first grand son of Parmenas Taylor. I have been searching for the burial site of Augustus Taylor without luck, any information of his grave site would be appreciated. Dan Taylor
