I have an ancestor, George Francis Reasons of Gibson Co. TN., who enlisted in the 47th TN. Infantry Co. B in Feb 1862 at age 14.
After the conscription act was passed he was discharged on January 20 1863 for being under-age.
I'm wondering if it was possible he re-enlisted later in the war after reaching legal age or if once discharged, individuals no longer qualified for service.
