Father Abram J. Ryan was a Roman Catholic Priest. He was known as the Poet-Priest of the South. Some poem titles include, The Conquered Banner, The Sword of Robert E. Lee, The Prayer of the South. His book, Poems: Patriotic,Religious,Miscellaneous. Can be downloaded through the internet. The Belmont Abbey College in NC houses his works and letters. He later was editor of servel newspapers. His retreat home in Mississippi was turned into a B & B and has been destroyed by Hurricaine Katrina. I have been researching his life for two years.
