Wow! George Nathan Greer was originally from NC. He lived in "Bibb Hollow" in Hickman Co. Is that near Leatherwood? Atleast 5 of his sons, including Nathan fought, 3 in the Ninth Battalion, Gantt's and Voorhies'. One, a James H. Greer was in the 24th Infantry too. I guess Nathan is buried in Bibb Hollow near Leatherwood although no tombstone is said to exist. In my family the Greer blood is the feisty side. Is there a memorial in Hickman Co., for our soldiers? Richard Greer is said to have died in the war. I don't have redords on all of them yet.
