Heres what Garrett writes about;
Lee Carris,(Leonidas?),bro of Wm.J,born 1845;single at enlistment Sept.1864 on Wheeler raid on Leatherwood;never wounded or prisoner;living 3 Dec.1909 in Jones Valley.
Richard,bro.of Wm J.,born about 1839,single at enlistment in Mallorys Co.A,in 11th Tenn.Inf.in Dickson Co,on reorginization in 1862 he came to Capt.Weems Co. in 11th Tenn.and died Atlanta,Ga.,1864,hospital chronic diarhea;he was never in cavalry.
William Joseph,"Price",courior for Gen Sterling Price;born 22 jan.1843;still single;enlisted in V.F.Bibb's Co.,9th Batt.Cav;measles not captured at Fort D.;then with Capt.Kinzer's Co.9then Capt.G.W.Mayberry)in 9th Batt.;sur.Charlotte,N.C.,1865;never wounded or prisoner;living Leateherwood 3 Dec.1909.
Garret has all these soldiers on the roll of Co.C,9th Batt.But as you see from Richard she says he was only in the infantry.Much of her information came from reunions like the 1909 one in Maury Co.Their service records will explain more.
