Thank you Alan!!! That explains why I am having such a hard time finding a complete roster! Do you happen to know what the different letter is? Our current Capt. goes by Capt. George W. McDonald of the 17th Tn. Co. K. I found some things yesterday while researching...once I have read them I'll pass on what I found on the 17th and the 23rd.

There are some in the cemetary at Rock Island Arsenal(24th Al, too). The arsenal now has a new research room with military information including the prison. I have not had time to go down to do any research there yet. Our library has an extended genealogy site/sites but I need names to do that.

Thanks George for your info also as that helped! We have a few young ladies in our unit that would love to do the company flag "send off". We found the Reg. flag but not the company one and I found the people who may have made the Reg. flags...reads like some were "painted" but have not found which flags yet.
