Thank you Alan. Here at www.shellpoint.org a party donated his Civil war library, which I have yet to view, bengs I'm new here from Naples.

3rd Regiment Arkansas Cavalry was remounted 11 Dec 1862 at Camp Rogers, Lumpkins Mill, Miss when Lt O C GRAY (promoted to captain 13 Dec) returned with their horses noted "private" with "public" marked out on forage form #32. Then as I understand, They fought dismounted at Holly Springs raid 20 Dec. As you pointed out on the Arkansas board, the 6th & 9th Cav units from Texas were with the 3rd Ark Cav much of the time.
