I've read that after the battle of Nashville, General Hood furloughed all troops from West Tennessee regiments.

Does anyone know the details of these furloughs, such as what date they were granted & when these men were to report back to the Army Of Tennessee?

I've also read that Cheatham's Division was not present at the battle of Bentonville. Would that be because this division was on still on these furloughs?
