Co. G, 33rd Tennessee

I'm trying to find information on the service of my great-grandfather, Sylvester Ray, in Company G of the 33rd Tennessee. In 1860 he was living in Obion County. I'm not sure exactly where or when he enlisted, but I have reason to believe he was captured at some point, held at the Union prison in Columbus, Ohio, and later enlisted in the 6th U. S. Volunteer Infantry ("Galvanized Yankees"). If anyone has any information as to his service, especially when and where he might have been captured, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks very much.
