Also know as "Crazy Fighting Joe", General Wheeler is a relative of mine. Through information from my late Aunt Gladys Wheeler (in North Carolina which is my home state thought my maternal Grandparents John & Flora Wheeler lived in Tennessee then many years later moved to North Carolina).
My late Aunt Gladys sent me alot of information and even a picture of General Wheeler. I also have a late uncle (my Mother's brother) named General Joseph Wheeler who is named after the General. This Uncle General Joe Wheeler was never in the military but was still named after the General. I have information showing naming the 1st Wheeler that came to America from Kent County, England in 1568.
I am looking for any information that can shed more light on this family member of mine, General Joseph Wheeler.
