Greetings:

I'm seeking information on where the 6th and 8th TN Cav, US were formed. I found a Union grave that the marker was fairly readable. The inscription was either the 6th or 8th Cav. The grave was in Grainger County. Were the US units formed from area or counties as the Confederate units were?
