If you do a search in CWSS for 21st Tennessee Cavalry CSA, you find the following units:

1. 21st/22nd Consolidated Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry

2. 21st Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry (Carter's)

3. 21st Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry (Wilson's)

4. 21st Battalion, Tennessee Cavalry

5. 21st Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry

If I understand correctly, #1 was formed in early 1865 partially from remnants of #3. And #2 and #4 are unrelated units. My question is where did #5 come from? It shows no unit history and only contains the names of 158 men. I cross-referenced some of the names and found some were from Wilson's 21st Cavalry (#3), but others were not listed on the rolls of any of the other "21st" regiments. Does anyone have an idea who these guys were? It has me a little confused.
