You didn't indicate how much research you had already done, but it appears you are trying to say this is your ancestor without any positive basis. You say unless you can tie this man to this regiment you cannot find any of your family, because you don't know where this John Bradley came from. First you need to KNOW this is your ancestor, or at least to some degree be certain, and the only way to do that is by starting with yourself and working backward. You say you cannot find any of your family, but a civil war record is not the start. You say this man lived in Arkansas and is your ancestor. If that is the case, you would need to start looking for census records or death records in that time and area. But. since you are not cetain, that could lead you down the wrong path. You will have to explore other avenues, and find who your ancestors were before getting a file. Your nearest genealogy library would help you get started.
