The Tennessee in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Francis Marion Lawson/13 Tn. Cav.

Well, I'm still trying to get MY book done, though still looking for information – always certain that there are treasures yet uncovered. I have a list of my top unanswered questions, should anyone care to see them.

My web site is 'way out of date, and I hope to get to that soon, and include my index to Scott & Angel. My latest article is "The Lost Adventures of Daniel Ellis" in The Journal of East Tennessee History no. 74 (2002): 58-68. Then there's that book by Casstevens that's noted on the web site -- it incorporates a bit of my new information. David Downing's A South Divided: Portraits of Dissent in the Confederacy (Nashville: Cumberland House Publishing, 2007) has a good amount on Ellis, but mostly from his "Thrilling Adventures."

Also, if anyone is interested, I am willing to share my Dan Ellis bibliography, which is constantly updated – and annotated.

Thanks for your interest, James!
