J-Reb,

Thanks for taking the time to send this info. Moody's son George Thomas is my gg grandfather. We believe the "Louis" was a census takers error & that Louis is George. I'm familiar with all of this material, except the last. I've never seen Moody's middle initial listed as "C" or anything else.

Some in the family believe his full name was George Moody Young, but I don't believe it was. Moody is an unusual name though. I have the service records of the all M. Young's listed in the 6th Inf & even one or two M. Young's in the 9th inf.

I was hoping one of the M. Young's in the 6th or 9th might be Moody, but the records offer no clues. The 6th & 9th were consolidated in Dec. 1862 & I thought there was a chance Moody might have appeared on a muster roll for the 9th.

I believe there was an M.C. Young in Neely's 14th TN. Cav., which formed in West TN.

Moody died Feb. 14 1898 & never applied for a Confederate pension. Nor did his wife Sarah who died in Jan. 1906.

Thanks again,

D. Williams
