Ft. Negley/Battle of Nashville, December 13, 2008

Hello,

Ft. Negley, the sole remaining Civil War for in Nashville, TN, is having their Battle of Nashville commemoration on Saturday, December 13th, 2008 at the fort. The festivities begin at 9 Am and conclude at 4:30 PM. The event is free and open to the public.

Included is a tour of the Battle of Nashville from Ft. Negley lead by David Fraley of the Carter House Civil War Site in Franklin, TN. There are lectures by Karel Lea Biggs on shortages on the Southern home front as well as Nashville being the focus of Confederate strategy in the west by Greg Biggs, both of the Clarksville Civil War Roundtable. The 13th United States Colored Troops will be encamped at the fort and there will be screenings of the recent "Battle of Nashville" video in the new visitor's center.
